Wayanad is a rural district located in the state of Kerala, in southwestern India. To the east, the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary boasts a vibrant, forested landscape with high-altitude regions, serving as a habitat for wildlife such as Asiatic elephants, tigers, leopards, and egrets. In the southern part, the Ambukuthi Hills are home to the Edakkal Caves, which feature ancient petroglyphs, some of which date back to the Neolithic period.
